Pulsar 200NS unveiled by Bajaj Auto which will be sold from April

Bajaj Auto Ltd, the second largest two-wheeler maker of the country has pulled a fast one on its competitors by unveiling a new motorcycle model, Pulsar 200NS, which it plans to start selling early in the next fiscal year that starts April 1. However the price has not been revealed yet of the new Pulsar motorcycle.

The reports mentioned that the, the Pulsar 200NS will have a 200-cubic-centimeter engine and will be sold in addition to the four motorcycles it sells under the Pulsar brand--it sells Pulsar motorcycles with 135-cc,150-cc, 180-cc and 220-cc engines. The model will compete with Honda Motor Co Co.'s CBR250R and Yamaha MotorCo.'s R15 motorcycles, Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said.
Bajaj MD Rajiv Bajaj was quoted as saying "The Pulsar 200NS will compete with other company models which are in the Rs 1 lakh to Rs1.5 lakh price range. Youcan expect this model to be under Rs 1 lakh.’’ The company currently produces 1 million Pulsar motorcycles a year at its Chakan factory in the western Maharashtra state.
It was also reported that Pulsar 200 NS engine will have 3 sparks - Triple Spark Ignition System instead of the traditional twin - spark system which are seen in the current Pulsar motorcycles. Pulsar 200 NS is powered by a 199.5 cc engine that will generate a maximum power of 23 bhp @ 9,500 rpm and will deliver a maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Bajaj will manufacture Pulsar 200 NS at their unit in Chakan near Pune. Dry weight of new Pulsar 200 NS is 145 kgs. Bajaj new Pulsar 200 NS will have a top speed of 136 kmph, making it one of the fastest motor cycle made by Indian manufacturer. Bajaj new Pulsar 200 NS will be able to accelerate from 0-60 kmph in just 3.8 seconds while it will take just 9.8 seconds to cross 0-100 kmph mark. Apart from these exceptional figures, Pulsar 200 NS delivers a mileage of 58 kmph when driven at a constant speed 55 kmph.

Bajaj to launch KTM Duke 200 on 24 January

Bajaj Auto is all set to launch KTM Duke 200 on 24 th January, 2012 in Delhi. Bajaj Auto is converting all its Pro biking showrooms into KTM inspired showrooms as a part of pre launch preparation. Apart from this Bajaj Auto has also included KTM link on its website and KTM did the same thing, including KTM India page on its website.
KTM Duke 200 is powered by 199.6 cc, four-stroke, Single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 Valve DOHC engine which generates maximum power of 25.47 bhp (19 KW) @ 10,000 rpm and maximum torque of 19.93Nm (14.7 foot-pound) @ 6,800 rpm. KTM Duke 200 is very light weight and generates power to weight ratio of 200 bhp/ton (Dry Weight). It has Chromium-Molybdenum trell is frame with steel sub frame, Bosh fuel injection system and a compact three chamber silencer. KTM Duke 200 is a first bike from KTM to be launched in India by BajajAuto. It has been jointly developed by Bajaj Auto and KTM of Austria. The bike is produced at Chakan plant of Bajaj Auto. Bajaj Auto has nearly 40% stake in KTM. The company has a very big plan for KTM Duke 200. It is expected to be launched in the price range of 1.2 -1.4 lacs.
Apart from this KTM Duke200 launch will be followed by next generation Pulsar and next generation Pulsar launch will be followed by an entire 100% new motorcycle . As far as 2012 is concern we will see very exciting launches from Bajaj Auto.
