Ducati brings Rs 7 lakh Monster bike to India


Iconic Italian mobike brand Ducati hasy unveiled 'Monster' model M795 with a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh at the Auto Expo 2012. The Monster will be available at the three dealership of the company, Ducati India CEO Ashish Chordia told reporters.This urban entry level model has been developed specially for Asia, the company said.

On competition from Harley-Davidson and Triumph, Chordia said India is a fast growing market and offers space for everyone. However, he said Ducati has "no competition". Monster has been the highest selling model for Ducati all over the world, Ducati Asia Pacific CEO Mirko Bordiga said. Apart from M795, Ducati is offering 13 other models like Hypermotard and Super Bike in India. The company plans to increase its dealership to 13 by the year end.
Founded in 1926, Ducati has been producing sporty motorcycles since 1946 and is sells in over 80 countries.

2012 CBR 1000RR unveiled in Auto Expo 2012


For the high end motorcycle in a real surprise enthusiast Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Ltd (HMSI) has launched the VT1300CX chopper in the country. And it also launched the 2012 CBR 1000RR at the Auto Expo. Prices for both the vehicles will be announced later.
The VT1300CX sports a 1312cc, liquid cooled, 52-degree V-twin engine. It's a fuel-injected motor and boasts of a single-pin crankshaft and dual balancers. The rear monoshock is neatly hidden away and Honda claims excellent ride quality for the VT1300CX .


It was mentioned that the 2012 version of the CBR1000RR , also known as the Fireblade was unveiled at the event. The CBR legend is in its 20th year now and the 2012 1000RR is, aptly, the 20th anniversary special edition. The reports stated that CBR1000RR looks meaner and sharper and a host of trick bits like a lap timer and a gear position indicator while the tachometer gets fourdifferent display modes so as to be visible in all light conditions. In addition to that are new 12-spoke alloys and revised front and rear suspension. Importantly,for the 2012 model, the fuel-injection unit has been tweaked so as to enhance the smoothnessand ease of operation of the bike, especially so at smaller throttle openings.
